Sunday

Sunday School Classes All Grades K through 5th Come to High Tide Sundays from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Dinner and fun! Do We Care About The Children Of The Church? Fort King offers nursery care for children under 5 years of age during Sunday morning services. We have one paid staff person in the nursery, but we cannot operate without a volunteer each Sunday as our Child Security Policy requires two adults accompany any group of children. This means we need you! If 18 volunteers would volunteer three Sundays a year, it would completely fill the year's calendar! Please volunteer to help with this much needed service. Contact Onalee Mease at 687-3160 to volunteer. All the above classes begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 10:15 a.m. For safety purposes, parents of primary children are requested to pick up the children from the CE Building at the end of class.

Adult Class

Two adult classes currently being offered are open to anyone wishing to join them at any time. Tom McNeil will continue the focus on the exploration of Islam and the problems of “social alternation” which are designed to encourage people to think seriously, and meaningfully, about the impact that “religion” and “religions” have had on human life. This class meets in the Session Room and will continue through December. Rev. Gans’ class is titled “Being Presbyterian in the Bible Belt.” This is a study on what it means to be Presbyterian, addressing such questions as “is the Bible the Literal Word of God?”, and helping Presbyterians articulate their faith by addressing these questions and answering them from a mainline point of view. This class meets in the Fellowship Hall and will continue through mid-October.

On November 2, Rev. McNeil’s class will host a special guest speaker, Mr. Bill Kalish. Mr. Kalish is an attorney who resides in Tampa and is a friend of Buddy MacKay. Mr. Kalish is of the Jewish faith, was raised in an Orthodox Jewish home, and is a member of three synagogues in Tampa. The focus of his presentation will be the Parables of Jesus from a Jewish point of view.
